What are the best gyms to workout in and is a personal trainer worth it?

Below is my personal experience.

These are how I rank them.

  1. Anytime Fitness (24/7)
  2. Snap Fitness (24/7)
  3. L.A. Fitness (awesome amenities but they close at like 11PM)
  4. Planet Fitness (24/7)

I have had several gym memberships in my life:

I have had several gym memberships in my life. I have had a La Fitness membership, an Anytime Fitness membership, and a Snap Fitness membership and I did a trial of a Planet Fitness membership which I canceled when I saw the no-grunt sign. Grunting I think is necessary because to effectively train, get stronger, and grow, you absolutely should lift as heavy as possible. There are different schools of thought about grunting I am not talking about grunt fish here I am talking about grunt meaning the grunting sound that is made when something heavy is lifted, There are droves of equipment at the gyms too. There is way too much to even perform for a single person there are cable workouts which I was always very fond of there are back cable workouts, chest cable workouts, and shoulder cable workouts too. The equipment at these gyms is unmatched, They also have free weights in addition to their cable equipment there of course is also cycling equipment, treadmills, and all types of equipment. La Fitness has basketball gyms and swimming pools too. So in addition to having lots of equipment, they also have staff there that is always good and personal trainers too. Which are VERY effective but also very expensive.

Gym memberships are very cool:

Gym memberships are very cool if that is your thing, The human body needs exercise no matter what. The equipment selection at these gyms is very cool. I used to get a membership at these gyms and go to them as late as possible because that is when there is the least amount of people there or very early in the morning around like 4 00 AM. That’s very early though. A lot of times I would go to these gyms on my way to work or on my way home from work which always made it very easy to make an excuse. When I first started going to the gym, I was around 30 and I would go to Snap Fitness and I had a personal trainer and that is the age when a human actually starts to get wise. Anyway, it was at that gym with that trainer that I got into the best shape of my life, I was young at the time, and I had been fat since I was 11 so the choice was easy for me. I got very lean. I remember once I got on the scale there and it said 168 LBS I think that was a mistake because I only remember seeing that once.

I remember I used to have a personal trainer:

I remember I used to have a personal trainer at that time and I used to pay him too and he would actually crouch down low and look at my muscles as I was training them and he would tell me to do things that always made the exercises harder. I guess he learned how to do that in school or something, I hated it when he did that, but he got me into the best shape of my life doing that lol. He was VERY good at his job he was an ISSA personal trainer which is the best Personal training certification you can get. I was eating chicken breast and protein powder and doing the ketogenic diet all at the same time. (The ketogenic diet or “Keto” diet is the absolute best diet for weight loss bar none). If you go to a doctor, and that doctor tells you to lose weight, that doctor will instruct you to do the ketogenic diet. I asked him once my (personal trainer) where he was from and he told me he was from PA and that he just drove South and he was in a hotel nearby and he liked the weather here (it is awesome weather) so he grabbed his cell phone, and punched in personal trainer jobs near me and he has been here ever since then. That was 8 years ago next month he said. I remember I would go there and I would pay him for several 30-minute sessions upfront. There were many days that I would go there and he would say to me okay today is a day we train the cardio vascular system. That would take up to 20 minutes of that training session. That is what got me into the best shape of my life. So after about 4 or 5 times he did that I was like “Is there any way we could plan the cardio days or you could email me the schedule ahead of time so I could just come in here before that time and knock out the 20 minutes of cardio before I meet with you?” He was like “no problem” and that is exactly what he did.

Then when I got really lean and strong naturally:

Then when I got really lean and strong naturally, he told me about steroids. He told me that Growth Hormone will rip the fat off of you while making you gorilla strong. I was like “SOLD” he told me that they were really expensive, but he did have steroids for sale though, of course, he did. It had been like 6 or 8 months though and he never said a single word to me about steroids. But he was shorter than me and I am of average height 5 foot 9 but extremely muscular then he showed me his stomach and he was very lean he told me he used to compete in bodybuilding tournaments when he was in PA. He told me to Google Personal Trainer Philadelphia or Philadelphia Personal Trainer and his picture would come up. I did that right then and there and 1 of them did come up, I forget which one. So I got some Growth Hormone from him a couple of times, and he was right about two things. It was very expensive the steroids price was like $400.00 a week this was in 2006 and I had to purchase my own needles and water for them too but I didn’t care, he told me how to do them, and I did get even skinnier than I already was and way stronger too. I decided that was “too rich for my blood” Though and went back to doing things naturally, but I stayed lean and strong until I stopped going to the gym so much, a year later. Being lean, and strong was cool but like all brand new things, it wore off eventually. During that time though, I learned a lot of stuff and I have since stopped working out at the gym and started working out at home. I spend way less money and working out at home is just way more convenient for me.
